Traditional German food is my comfort food. Having been to Germany twice and absorbed some of the culture and cuisine, I started to eat more German food in the US. Now for the first time in a few years, I made my own. Instead of pork or veal, I used chicken breasts to make Schnitzel. For sides, I ate it with sauerkraut and a German potato salad.

Not sure where you had German food but sometimes they pop up in surprising places. You also have to ask where the chefs got his recipes; preferably from his grandmother who used to live there.
