Problem with Progressives

Also known as “Dealing with Democrats.”

It’s 2020 – presidential election year. Somehow, the Dem-Progressives are increasing their efforts. Maybe because they’re focusing on people who are not members of any political party; I’m staunchly independent and thus in their minds, they think I’m gullible or easily swayed. By the end of this post, you’ll see whether I am.

Tom Steyer wants to save the environment. His rhetoric seems to indicate that saving the planet is more important than dealing with terrorism, religious persecution, teen suicide, drug addiction, drug trafficking, a resurgent Russia, and strategic rivalry with China.

Mike Bloomberg wants to revamp healthcare and ensure there is universal healthcare. His ads attack Trump for trying to repeal Obamacare and not having ever taken a single cent of politic interest mining. Meanwhile, I haven’t head a single word from Bloomberg about how the proposed universal healthcare can solve teen suicides, drug overdose, religious persecution, or international politics.

Bernie’s supporters texted me about joining forces to bring “corporations” to pay their fair share.

As for the other candidates…

I’m going to ask the candidates and pretty much everyone this one question: What is your moral imperative? In other words, why do you want what you want to achieve?

I am not asking why I should vote for them.
I am not asking why they think they ought to be president.

I am asking what are their moral foundations?

Saving the planet? Is it because it’s our only home? Or is it because God made it and endowed it with value?

And what about affordable healthcare? To take care of people at reasonable costs? The intrinsic value of people? Who gave people value? Evolution-scientism has nothing to offer. Or what about a loving God who declared His creation good and mankind very good?

To be honest, I have not been very impressed with what I see or hear. Just a whole bunch of “outrage” and nothing else.

Because at the end of the day, all “oughts” and “ought nots” come from religious/ spiritual truths. Not political. Pick any religion or philosophy in the world and you will find the real origins. Environmentalism and health care – those are relatively modern issues which are just the tip of the iceberg. Yet, most Democrats-Progressives are hostile to religion. Case in point: a few years ago, Hilary Clinton called Christians “Easter Worshippers” and would not even call the attack on Christians during that fateful Easter as “religious persecution.” Why?

Why ask for my vote when everything else they stand for denies the spiritual truths or denigrates my beliefs?
