Review of “It’s Okay Not to be Okay.”

It's Okay Not to Be Okay: Moving Forward One Day at a Time

It’s Okay Not to Be Okay: Moving Forward One Day at a Time by Sheila Walsh

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

If I could give this book 20 stars, I would gladly do so. It is so easy for us whose love language is act of service to think that we can please God to do more, jump higher, and be strong for all. It’s easy for Christians like Sheila who is on TV all the time to show they got it all when they are crumbling inside.

And as Sheila says – it’s okay not to be okay. Better yet, God is okay that you’re not okay. I am so thankful for Sheila’s message that God is okay for us, that God loves us and through Jesus, makes us okay, one day at at time.

I started reading this book in one of the worst times of my life – health issues, mental issues, and just feeling extremely low. Lots of disappointment and loss of a friendship, and I asked how can I ever recover from this? If there was an illustration of timeliness, this was it. You could say i was prompted to read this book when Kindle gave me a $3 credit, or that Pastor David Jeremiah from Turning Point Ministries had just interviewed Sheila very recently, but I’d say it was God.

I highly recommend this book to every Christian (not just counselors) who feels they have to act like they got everything today.
