Last month on President’s Day, my brother and I decided to hike the hills behind our house. It was a beautiful day and the sun was shining. It was warm enough so off we went. The hills were high enough to offer a great view of the surrounding tracts. We shot most of the pictures using our smart phones and 12 megapixel camera.

What we really wanted pictures of was the mountains. Standing in the street, looking north, we had a great view around 1:30 PM.

As we looked to the south, we could see more great weather. The path on the left leads further down the hill to a senior assisted living center… and a Jack in the Box. (For all my non-US readers, that’s a fast food place.) The next ones to the north are even more epic.
To the north are the San Bernandino mountains. The days before, there was enough rain that it dumped real snow. And there was more rain coming. While there was plenty of sunshine, blue skies to the south, it was a different story.
We stayed there for about 30 minutes or so, and not a moment too soon because less than 20 minutes later, that rainstorm we took pictures of now came down.
